Problem: When we started KLAW Industries, glass pozzolans were not a thing. No one in the concrete industry had hear of it. Being a conservative industry, it was difficult to convince concrete plant owners and the New York State Department of Transportation to allow it to be used at all. 

To make matters worse, we were 21 with no experience or connections in the industry.

Solution: 

We orginally came up with the idea by reading research papers. Then make a little bit for a customer who was interested in a solution for their supply chain issues.

In the end we had a concrete material that was not only accepted by ASTM and NYSDOT, it was prefered by both the regulators and concrete customers because of workability, durabilty, and stregnth it gave to the concete.
